Domestic Services – Facts

 ·      Despite concerns about the current financial climate, UK households are becoming increasingly reliant on domestic services according to Yell.com – the online service from Yellow Pages.

·      Whilste belts are being tightened, Yell.com’s data experts, who analyse the search habits of its millions of users, found that searches for businesses offering help around the home have increased by 60% since the same period last year. ?

·      It seems UK householders are moving to outsource household chores with Internet searches for private cleaners rising by 14% and searches for gardeners growing by a massive 122%.

·      A 59% rise in searches for dog walking services also suggests that Brits are struggling to fit their pets’ ‘walkies’ into increasingly busy routines.

·      Clodagh Ward, consumer development director at Yell, said: “These search increases may be surprising, especially with the current emphasis on reducing day-to-day outgoings. Yet, rather than being a luxury, it would seem that these services are essential in helping people stay on top of their busy lifestyles.”

(April 2, 2008) Quarterly for the style-savvy, design conscious individual, MI CASA will bridge the gap between high fashion magazines and interior design bringing interesting and unique editorial to the people who want to read it.

The concept for MI CASA is one of breaking the mould.  The idea behind it is of multiple facets, being able to fit into a style but without a label, and above all, being different. A magazine with pages devoted to products, design inspiration and local designers, MI CASA explores the idea that an interiors/design magazine doesn’t just have to include pictures of other people’s houses.  MI CASA aims to achieves a level or normality while still taking it’s readers out of their comfort zone.

MI CASA is one of very few oversized design magazines, a format usually reserved for the very high fashion magazines. Inside, readers can enjoy vibrant colour, large layouts, and high quality matt finished paper that enhances the design spreads, relevant interviews, and specially designed photography editorials. Part interiors, part design, part art, part fashion, the magazine has a very natural quality to it.

We will spark new ideas by speaking with and featuring designers that are trying to do something completely new and different. MI CASA is a real life magazine and can be read by many. It’s a peculiar idea, giving away a high quality design magazine for FREE, but there is a lot to take in from a lot of different types of people, and with no cover price we aim to infect  as many people as possible with the design bug!
